Hi, there!

I’m Irma (most of my friends call me Imce), a Sagittarius born in Jakarta, 19 December 1992. My last name, Saraswati, sounds like a Balinese one, but I’m a 100% Javanese breed. 

I like to explore new things — new place, culture, friends. Travel is one of them. I think my love for travel had been grown ever since I did an exchange program to Daejeon University, South Korea, funded by the Korean Government in 2013. It was my first time “seeing the world” and I’ve been promised myself to explore more. As I was able to earn money by myself, from 2015, I started to travel more — mostly to Indonesia and Asia. I’m currently living in the UK for my master study, funded by Chevening FCO.

Besides that, I have a passion for startups and entrepreneurship. This has been triggered since I managed a startup expansion in Indonesia as the first employee hired. I believe that start-up plays a major role in solving societal problems and elevating people through internet usage, also helping in the self- development of people involved with start-up companies. After that, I joined the biggest South East Asia’s largest mobile tech company, before pursuing my master.

My vision is to create an encouraging environment to support potential female founders in developing their business ideas. My first step was making a digital community supporting Indonesian female entrepreneurs called Perempuan Perintis (Instagram: womenstartup.id). I always believe in this: ‘Key for happiness in life: be grateful for what you have and what you are now’. I just don’t want to forget for being grateful for what I have and done til now. Writing my story is one of the ways to keep grateful and record my memories. It’s mostly about my experiences, thoughts and tips. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
